The airline EasyJet announced today the extension of its operations in Cape Verde until the summer of 2025, coinciding with the launch of its second flight from Portugal to the archipelago, this time from the city of Porto.

On Tuesday, October 29, the low-cost airline EasyJet inaugurated its operations to Cape Verde with the Lisbon-Sal flight. It will operate two routes (Porto-Sal and Lisbon-Sal) with six weekly frequencies.

“In May, the airline announced the launch of this new route from Sal Island to Lisbon and Porto, with around 50,000 seats available for the winter season. EasyJet announced today that it will extend its operations in Cape Verde from both Portuguese cities until summer 2025. Summer flights will be available for booking in the coming weeks,” the airline stated in a press release sent to Inforpress.

The flights will have four weekly frequencies, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from Lisbon, and two from Porto on Wednesdays and Saturdays, bringing EasyJet’s total offerings from Lisbon to 32 destinations and from Porto to 29.

According to the same source, the flights will be operated by A320 Neo aircraft, prompting EasyJet to base three Neo planes in Lisbon and two in Porto during this winter.

“With the growing demand for travel to tropical destinations, EasyJet is responding to passenger interest by introducing these new routes, offering affordable fares for a destination with a strong connection to the Portuguese and an endless cultural offering,” the airline emphasized.

The first EasyJet flight from Portugal to Cape Verde landed on Sal Island with 186 passengers on board, and was welcomed by Cape Verdean authorities, including the Minister of Tourism and Transport, Carlos Santos, and the CEO of Cabo Verde Airports, Jorge Benchimol Duarte.

The low-cost airline’s flights to Cape Verde from Lisbon and Porto have a cost of 83 euros and 99 cents (approximately 9,259 escudos), excluding checked luggage.
